The Baton
The baton, a specially commissioned piece of Irish bog oak, was created and designed by Brian Reardon and Bradley Richards for Rith 2010
Brian Reardon, 32, is a Dublin native currently living in Oranmore, Co.Galway. Brian has been wood carving and furniture making in his spare time for over ten years. In the last four years his interest has been with Bog Wood carving. Brian has created a number of commissioned pieces.

Bradley Richards, 19, from Kiltegan, Co.Wicklow is a Head Joiner at Lisnavagh Timber Project, Rathvilley. Bradley has been wood turning for the past five years and has exhibited in numerous turning events.
The baton is decorated with a silver ring designed by the jeweller Brian de Staic, Daingean, Co. Chiarraí - www.briandestaic.com. The ring is engraved with the Rith 2010 logo and the words "Rith 2010".
