RITH ROUTE 2012

Route of Rith 2012

What route will Rith 2012 take?

Rith 2012 will kick-off in Gaoth Dobhair (Gweedore) on 8th March 2012. After the opening speeches, the baton will be opened and a message of support for the Irish language will be inserted. The baton will then be passed to the lead runner of the first kilometre and the trip will begin...

The baton will be carried around Ireland for nine days, running from morning to night, covering a trip of 1000km passing through more than 200 towns and villages in 15 counties. The road run will finish each night at Club Rith, a social function on a location on the course. The run, in effect, is made up of 10 seperate stages, with a morning start and an late afternoon/evening finish in most cases. Rith 2012 will finish on Saint Patrick's Day in Inis Mór, Aran Islands, Co. Galway

On this website, the full details of the Rith 2012 are presented. The course is laid out with a full kilometre listing for each couty section.
